Founded in 1902, the YWCA of Greater Atlanta is a movement whose mission is to eliminate racism and empower women. We fulfill our mission with programs that support Atlanta’s women and girls through education, advocacy, and unity.

Strengthened by diversity, the YWCA draws together people who strive to create opportunities for women’s growth, leadership, and power to attain a common vision: peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people.

The YWCA is the oldest and largest multinational women's organization in the world. Across the globe, we have more than 25 million members in 122 countries, including 2.6 million members and participants in 300 local associations in the United States.

Programs at a Glance

Women in Transition—A safe-haven for homeless mothers and their children, WIT provides mental health services, emotional support and economic opportunities that help lead to sustainable employment.
Teen Girls in Technology (TGI Tech)—A mentoring program that builds confidence in 7th and 8th grade girls by exposing them to an innovative curriculum of science, technology, engineering, and math via professional female mentors.
Early Learning Academy—Affordable child care that promotes core values, learning and fun for children (ages six weeks to 5).
After-School Learning Academy—A safe, enriching and structured environment for youth (ages 5 to 12).
Empowered Youth Entertainment—A diversity education program for students (ages 13-19), that explores attitudes toward discrimination, intolerance, and prejudice by developing and producing performances utilizing the arts: writing, acting, music, etc.
ENCOREplus—A national breast and cervical cancer awareness program that educates and refers uninsured women for screenings.
Falcons Fitness—A service for area elementary school children that teams physical fitness activities with nutrition training.
