The Story Behind the Story: A Fireside Chat

On Wednesday, March 8, 2012, the YWCA and the Department of Labor's Women's Bureau held its third annual A Fireside Chat: The Story Behind the Story with a panel of distinguished American women. Th event was hosted by Justine Boyd of the YWCA of Greater Atlanta and Paulette Lewis of the Women's Bureau and attended by almost 200 energetic women. Journalist Angela Robinson moderated this unique event.

The Honorable Stacy Abrams, Major General Maria Britt, Dr. Carla Haack, Deborah Richardson and The Honorable Nan Orrock filled the "hot seat" as they were bombarded with questons about their path(s) to success in their various fields. CLICK HERE to view our 2012 Facebook photo album of the event.

After the 2012 Fireside Chat

"I attended my first YWCA's "Fireside Chat" on 3/8/12 and I wanted to express my deepest gratitude to you and your staff, and everyone involved for a wonderful evening! The food, hospitality and atmosphere was very professional yet comfortable and inviting. The panel of women of course were so inspiring! I am a strong woman, but at times challenges can temporarily bring me down, but I come back up even stronger. Right now, times are challenging, but listening to their testimonies and their encouraging advice, reminded me of my strengths and my perseverance. They inspired me to tap into my well of strength, intelligence, wisdom, and compassion. In addition, I enjoyed meeting and networking with attendees and then the individual panelists at the end.
