volunteer at the YWCA!

Please make the time to help us accomplish our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.

We need people to contribute their time and talent, and to lead by example. Become an active partner in transforming the lives of women and girls in need here in Atlanta—one person at a time. Work onsite with program participants, become a mentor, or adopt a family in one of our programs.

How to Become a YWCA Volunteer

  • Complete the online volunteer contact request above or download the Volunteer Application Form on the right side of this page.
  • The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you and schedule a face-to-face interview.
  • Upon completion of satisfactory reference checks (and a criminal background check if volunteering to work in a shelter or children) your volunteer experience will begin with placement in a YWCA program.
  • For some placements, formal educational and on-the-job training is required and provided free of charge.
