Planned Giving

Legacy Giving is a powerful way to make a difference in the lives of others. At YWCA Greater Atlanta, we work hard to make your contribution count by supporting women. Together, we’ll continue to provide tools and opportunities that empower these women to strengthen their communities and create their own legacies.

Bequests (or gifts through a donor’s will) are the most common type of planned charitable gift received by YWCA Greater Atlanta.

Typically, a donor sets aside a certain dollar amount or percentage of their estate, or a specific asset to benefit YWCA Greater Atlanta. The donor’s estate will receive a charitable tax deduction upon his or her death when the gift is made to charity. Bequests help the YWCA launch and also support important community programs, and prepare the organization for future growth.

To help you get started on your plans and legacy, you can use FreeWill, an online tool that guides you through the process of creating your will or trust. It’s easy to use, accessible online, and can be completed in 20 minutes. You can use this resource on its own, or use it to document your wishes before finalizing your plans with an attorney.
