Purpose
What Is It

The YWCA Directory is a centralized resource that makes it easy to locate, compare, and explore programs and services offered across YWCA USA associations. It includes:

  • General association information (name, state, contact information, etc.)
  • Service distribution across YWCA USA's standardized service categories
  • A detailed list of services, programs, and events offered by each association
When To Use It

Use the directory when you need to:

  • Find which YWCA associations offer a specific program or service
  • Identify potential partners for collaboration or knowledge sharing
  • Explore service trends and program offerings across the YWCA network
  • Support strategic planning, grant writing, and resource development
  • Quickly access association information without searching individual websites
  • Compare programs across multiple associations to identify best practices and innovative services
Directory Scope

The YWCA directory contains information collected from YWCA USA associations using publicly available information and YWCA USA 2022 Self-Reported Data. While every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, programs and services may change over time. If you notice inaccurate information, email DSA@ywcaatlanta.org.

Before You Begin
  • Open the Directory
  • Familiarize yourself with the column headers to understand what information is available
  • Ensure filters are cleared before starting a new search. See "FAQ" section on "How do I clear filters?"
  • Use Services categories for broad searches and the Notes column to search for specific program names
  • For support, see "Filtering" in the "How To Use It" section
How To Use It
Filtering

Each column in the directory can be filtered. Access Excel's filters by clicking on the drop arrow box. Use the filters to quickly locate services by using the search bar, selecting or deselecting checkboxes, or applying the Contains text filter to find specific programs, keywords, associations, and categories. Multiple columns can be filtered at once.

  1. Open the filter for the Notes column
  2. Select Text Filters → Contains
  3. Enter a keyword (e.g., housing, STEM, counseling)
  4. Review the filtered results to see all associations offering that service
Find a Specific YWCA Association

Use Case: View all information related to a single YWCA association.

  1. Open the filter for the Association Name column

  2. Select Y (or the applicable value)
  3. Review the filtered associations
  4. Refer to the Notes column for detailed program names
Best Practices
Use Targeted Searches
  • Filter by keywords instead of scrolling through the full list
  • Try broad terms (e.g., health, housing, youth, STEM) to discover related programs
Combine Filters
  • Apply multiple filters (e.g., state + service category) to narrow results
  • Use filters together to identify associations with specific expertise
Explore Unique Programs
  • Review the services marked as Other in the Notes column to discover innovative services that do not fit existing categories
  • Search for emerging areas like entrepreneurship, technology, and leadership programs
Support Collaboration
  • Use the directory to identify associations with similar initiatives
  • Connect associations with shared service areas to encourage knowledge sharing

Who Do I Contact If I Notice Incorrect Information?

Email the YWCA of Greater Atlanta Digital Learning team at DSA@ywcaatlanta.org.

Why Are Some Cells Blank?

Blank cells indicate that information was unavailable during data collection or could not be verified. It is likely a cell on the row of a red association. Please refer to "Why Are Some Associations Red?" for further clarification.

Why Are Some Associations Red?

Red associations were found to have some issues with their websites. Issues may include unavailable content, closed site, and outdated information.

The explanation of the red label is noted directly next to the association's name. If you think an association should not be red, contact DSA@ywcaatlanta.org.

Why Is a Service Listed Under "Other"?

Some services did not align with the existing standardized service categories. These programs have been placed in the Other category while remaining fully searchable through the Notes column.
