YWCA of Greater Atlanta Welcomes International Nonprofit Leaders  

Atlanta, GA – November 9, 2023 – The YWCA of Greater Atlanta has been selected to host a delegation of nonprofit leaders from seven countries participating in an exchange program facilitated by the U.S. Department of State on Friday afternoon. The delegation’s visit to Atlanta is designed to foster cross-cultural learning and collaboration, create a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences and provide an opportunity for these leaders to explore and exchange innovative strategies related to human and civil rights and nonprofit management. Six local organizations will meet with the international leaders during their visit. “The Georgia Council of International Visitors proposed a meeting with the YWCA of Greater Atlanta to address the Department of State’s theme ofAdvancing human rights and empowering vulnerable populations,” said Program Coordinator for International Visitors, Lindsey Gantt.The YWCA of Greater Atlanta was selected by the Department of State based on the Association's successful programs and initiatives focused on empowering women, identifying community problems, advocating for solutions, and creating more equitable communities.”  The delegation is comprised of the following representatives:  

  • Ms. Alicia Audrey WALLACE, Director of Equality, Bahamas 
  • Ms. Ludmila Da Gloria MERO, Co-founder and Team Leader of Communication Specialist Communication and Stakeholder Engagement at Abraço de Mana/The Sister’s Association, Mozambique 
  • Ms. Angel LAMA, Advocacy Officer, Blue Diamond Society, Nepal 
  • Mr. Fred MUSIIME, Executive Director, Citizen Rights and Development, Uganda 
  • Mr. Chris NKWATSIBWE, Deputy Chief of Party, SCENE Project, Uganda National NGO Forum (UNNGOF) 
  • Ms. Maryna HOMENYUK, Programme Manager, European Prison Litigation Network (EPLN), Ukraine 
  • Mr. Trevor MACFARLANE, Founding Director, Culture Commons, United Kingdom
