YWCA Greater Atlanta Hosts YWomenVote National Town Hall Watch Party

We are excited to announce that YWCA Greater Atlanta has been selected to receive a grant from YWCA USA to host a YWomenVote National Town Hall watch party. This event took place on Saturday September 7, 2024.

About the Event:

The YWomenVote National Town Hall is a nonpartisan initiative organized by YWCA USA and is aimed at engaging Gen Z women in critical discussions about voting issues. This event will be hosted in Philadelphia and is designed to provide a nonpartisan forum for the diverse, impactful opinions of young women, girls and nonbinary young people to influence national discourse and shape effective policy solutions as we approach the 2024 presidential election. Through watch parties like ours, communities nationwide can participate in these vital conversations.

Event Highlights:

  • A Panel Discussion: Gen Z voices discussing issues that matter most to them.

  • A Politician Forum: Hear from political campaigns about their platforms and issues they care about!

  • Light Snacks and Giveaways: Refreshments and fun giveaways throughout the event.

  • Button Making: Get creative at our button-making station!

  • Networking: An opportunity for you to create your voting plan to head to the polls in November! Connect with other Gen Z individuals who are passionate about making a difference in Atlanta.

Why This Matters:

Voting is a cornerstone of democracy, and it's crucial that young people are informed, engaged, and motivated to participate in the electoral process. By hosting this watch party, we aim to empower Gen Z women with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed voting decisions and to encourage their active involvement in shaping the future of our community and country.
