Biography: Sooraya Williams
Sooraya Williams joined YWCA Greater Atlanta in 2020. Currently she holds the role of Program Director, Digital Learning, overseeing the Digital Skills Academy and Teen Girls in Technology program. With a background in Political Science from GSU and a Paralegal Certificate from UGA, she embraces lifelong learning and is currently expanding her knowledge through studies in Data Engineering.
Recognizing the importance of fostering diversity and inclusion, Sooraya was honored to be invited to join the 35 Under 35 2022 cohort by YWCA USA. This recognition celebrates the accomplishments of individuals who actively promote inclusivity, with a special emphasis on empowering Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIWOC). Sooraya is deeply passionate about supporting and guiding young women across all sectors, helping them thrive and succeed.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Sooraya has a diverse range of interests. She holds a National Certification as a Personal Trainer and has experience as a kickboxing instructor. In her free time, she finds joy in coaching a High School Dance Team and cherishes the companionship of her beloved fur babies, Ghost the Husky and Bullet the American Bully.
Sooraya is committed to making a positive impact and fostering inclusive environments. Through her work, she strives to create spaces where everyone's voice is heard and oppressive systems are challenged.
