Driving Change: How YWCA of Greater Atlanta's New Bus is Empowering Our Community

Safe, reliable transportation should not be a barrier to education, healthcare, or civic engagement, and that is why YWCA of Greater Atlanta has invested in a new bus. Our new bus is tailor-made to transport various program participants.

Here is how our customized bus will make a difference:

Early Learning Academy: The bus will support our teachers and students, ensuring safe and convenient transportation for field trips.

EncorePlus Program: Recognizing the importance of timely healthcare, our bus will be used to transport women in the ENCOREPlus Program to and from their mammogram appointments. By removing transportation barriers, we aim to promote regular health check-ups and empower women to prioritize their well-being.

Digital Skills Academy: For women enrolled in the Digital Skills Academy, the bus will serve as a mobile classroom, transporting them to in-person classes and educational events. This not only fosters a supportive learning environment but also ensures accessibility for all participants.

Georgia Women's Policy Institute: Our customized bus will play a crucial role in supporting the Georgia Women's Policy Institute by facilitating transportation for participants advocating at the Capitol.

YWCA of Greater Atlanta is grateful for our Board of Directors, who approved this investment. The staff will be tracking usage and impact, as we continue to move throughout Atlanta “on a mission” to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people.
